About Jute, Luxury Interior Design Studio | Jute Interior Design

At Jute, we create grounded, beautifully comfortable spaces

We craft one of a kind, welcoming spaces- rooted in wellness. Mindful layering, a connection to nature and artisanal techniques together create clean air quality without sacrificing aesthetics.  Our design methods involve emphasizing natural light, incorporating natural materials and layering one-of-a-kind pieces to create elevated environments grounded in nature.

In projects ranging from Carmel seaside escapes to San Francisco family homes to Sonoma County wineries, we aim for an approachable feel, fusing the character and sustainability of antique furnishings with the understanding of how people inhabit a space. Specializing in new builds and remodels, every aspect is carefully considered to create a healthy atmosphere that’s breathable, comfortable, and functional.  The result: customized, harmonious spaces tailored to fit your lifestyle and optimized for your well-being.

Ali Davin leads Jute with an art – centric ethos and love for antiques. After beginning her career at the J Paul Getty Museum and Bonham’s auction house, she founded Jute in 2009 with studios in San Francisco and Santa Monica providing luxury interior design services rooted in a holistic philosophy. Her personal passion for health and wellness led her to do a deep dive on materials and today she brings with her over 15 years of personally vetted materials and experience to her projects.

Jute has been featured in national and international publications including Elle Decoration, Architectural Digest, and Luxe. Ali has authored Live Natural: A Relaxed Approach to Creating Healthy Homes and wrote the Sustainable Design column for Rue Magazine.
